Container dock replacement

The presence of scouring along the 1100-ml-long Gravelau container quay at Fos-sur-Mer necessitated the implementation of an encroachment operation involving the laying of riprap by means of cable excavators positioned on the quay. The difficulty in carrying out the work was due to the fact that the terminal was still in operation and that the work was carried out on-site with two workshops in order to meet market deadlines. Also, a high degree of precision was required in the setting of the rockfill with an altimetric tolerance of 10 cm, given the size of the vessels berthing at this terminal, which required the use of a “vibrating plate” developed especially for the site.
